７回かまどにくべても燃えないほどという謂れから
その名前がつきました。

This painting is a vivid interpretation of the autumn foliage of the Urajiro-nanakamado (Japanese rowan), sketched in Karasawa, a valley in the Northern Japanese Alps.
The name Nanakamado literally means "seven hearths." According to tradition, its wood is so hard that it would not burn even after being placed in a hearth seven times, giving the tree its distinctive name.
